Casework and Continuum of Care Services (No Shelter Placement Required)
Camp Haven Sanctuary offers casework and continuum of care services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability in Bastrop County. This program is available regardless of whether an individual is placed in Camp Haven Sanctuary, placed in another shelter within Bastrop County, waiting for placement, or residing within the community.
This program serves two primary purposes:
1 Casework support for individuals who need assistance navigating services, applying for programs, or working toward stability, regardless of shelter placement status.
2 Continuum of care and aftercare support for individuals who have exited shelter into housing and would like to continue receiving guidance and assistance to maintain long-term stability.
Eligibility for this program includes individuals who are experiencing homelessness, are low income, or are at risk of homelessness. Former Camp Haven Sanctuary program participants are also eligible to receive ongoing aftercare support as part of our continuum of care.
Participation in this program is voluntary. Individuals are not required to enter shelter placement to receive casework support. However, participants are expected to maintain communication, follow program guidelines, and actively engage in the process in order to receive ongoing assistance.
For individuals exiting Camp Haven Sanctuary shelter placement, aftercare support is automatically available and does not require a separate application. This ensures continuity of support as individuals transition into stable housing.
Individuals who are applying for shelter placement at Camp Haven Sanctuary may also receive casework support while waiting for placement. Because shelter space is limited and often operates with a waiting list, applicants may receive casework services even if they have not yet been accepted into the shelter.
When completing the shelter placement application, applicants can indicate that they would like casework support regardless of placement status. If this option is selected, a separate application for casework services is not required.
Availability of casework and continuum of care services is dependent on program capacity, including staff availability, volunteer support, and funding. Meeting eligibility criteria does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Casework and continuum of care services focus on helping individuals identify their needs, understand available services, navigate application processes, and complete paperwork when needed. Assistance is based on each person’s individual circumstances and may include help applying for or accessing:
