Shelter Placement and Program Services

Camp Haven Sanctuary is more than just a place to stay. Shelter placement is part of a required program designed to help individuals and families move toward stability, safety, and long-term independence. Every person seeking shelter placement must apply for placement. The application link is below:

Being accepted into shelter placement means becoming a program participant. As part of the program, each participant is required to follow all rules, guidelines, policies, and procedures established by Camp Haven Sanctuary.

Casework is included as part of shelter placement. Anyone who applies for and is accepted into shelter placement does not need to submit a separate application for casework support, because casework is already part of the shelter program.

Our casework support helps participants identify their needs, understand available services, navigate application processes, and complete paperwork when needed. Assistance is based on each person’s individual circumstances and may include help applying for or accessing:

Replacement Birth Certificates and Social Security Cards - Assistance obtaining or replacing lost or stolen birth certificates and Social Security cards.

State Identification Cards and/or Driver’s Licenses - Assistance applying for or replacing state-issued IDs or driver’s licenses, which are often required for employment, housing, and benefits.

Employment and Income

Employment Navigation Support - Guidance on where to apply for jobs based on an individual’s skills, experience, and current situation. This may include helping identify appropriate job opportunities and assisting with basic application steps when needed. Camp Haven Sanctuary does not provide job training or maintain direct relationships with employers.

Adults

We work with several organizations who are engaged in trying to find placement for unhoused individuals. We also help individuals that are not associated with an organization.

Pets

Pets and service animals at our facility.

Ride Requests

We understand that not everyone has access to a vehicle, and we want to help. We offer assistance, but our ride request service  is mostly dependent on what volunteers can do to help. Your request is not a guarantee.

Laundry Facility

We offer a full laundry room and provide laundry detergent. We also try to provide fabric softener when made available by donations.

Pet Policy

We accept one animal per person or two animals per family unit. We ask that you have your animal spayed and neutered. You will need to fill out an animal application for every animal.

Guests and Overnight Guests

We allow guests at any time and overnight guests with an application approval. Residents are never allowed to knowingly bring someone that is a registered sex offender onto the property.

Movement Restrictions

We are a gated community and require our residents to keep the gate locked at all times. However, our adult residents are free to come and go as they please.

If someone applies and gets accepted, we will help get you to our facility.

We can provide transportation for those without a vehicle to relocate to our facility, and can help with ride assistance while at our facility, based on volunteer availability.
